Regarding the 2008 VSP Winternationals.
Well, we were all geared up for the 3rd annual Winternationals the week between Christmas and New years. Justin
would be racing 2 classes a day, however Sean and Andrew's class was not racing. We had worked out with the track to
allow them practice time each day though. Then, on the Friday before all plans changed. I got a call from school, Justin
had fallen and possibly broken his arm. The x-rays confirmed, both bones broken right above his wrist. So, the
day before Christmas he was at the orthopaedic doctors getting it set in a cast. No racing for Justin.
We decided to still go to the track, as dad Stuart was scheduled to help with scoring/computers. Sean and Andrew
practiced the first day. Then for the last day we changed out Sean's restrictor plate for a purple one and let him race.
There was 5 karts in his class. He qualified 4th and finished 4th. We are really impressed with his performance as he
had not even had a chance to practice with the faster kart. The kids that finished in front of him had all been racing
that class for a while, so we were just happy that he stayed up with them.
Justin's cast will be removed before the first race of the season, and we are looking forward to a great 2008!
