Three Brothers Karting was started in the spring of 2003. At the time, our sole driver was Justin.
He was starting out in the beginners class at Volusia Speedway park. It was an excellent learning year, and he even
picked up a couple feature event wins.
2004 was just as strong. We upgraded from a separated three piece body to a solid body with a cusotm red,
white and blue flag/flame design. (see the photo album for pics). With several more wins under his belt Justin was able
to graduate to the Novice class in the beginning of 2005.
In the novice class we were able to start changing gears and experimenting with kart set up more to gain more
speed. About half way through the year, there were rule changes to the class that didn't work with our setup (a smaller
jet was required which caused our motor to run to hot). So, Justin moved up into the regular Purple restrictor plate class.
Through the end of 2005 and 2006 Justin picked up several heat race wins and multiple top 5 feature finishes.
2005 was the first annual Volusia Winternationals, where he picked up 2nd place overall for his . The 2006 Winternationals
also included WKA's National event and once again Justin ran strong and had some top finishes.
For 2007 the team will be adding another driver. Sean will be piloting his John Deere green monster in VSP's
custom silver plate beginner class. We are looking for him to have a learning year, and hopefully also rack up some solid
finishes.
Justin is starting out 2007 in the Blue restrictor plate class. As most of the purple class is moving up,
we expect it to be a good even start to the season. Justin will be handling higher speeds and more aggressive driving,
but he is definately ready.
On September 1st the 3rd driver for team S & K took the track. Young Andrew at only 5 years old raced
his first race, and won both the heat and feature events! We are looking forward to seeing what the future races will bring
for him.
2008 ushers in our first full year of having 3 competing karts. Justin will continue in the Blue plate division,
Sean in Beginner 2 and Andrew in Beginner 1. The two younger drivers may change during the year, but only time will
tell.
